Muxtape Smart Playlist for iTunes

What, you haven’t heard of Muxtape? Where have you been the last day or two? You don’t already have a playlist?! And you call yourself web savvy.

Not to worry. While the Twitterverse is taking bets on how long before Muxtape gets pulled down by the RIAA, here’s a neat little tip that helps you quickly and easily find songs in your iTunes library to upload to your own Muxtape.

First, we’re going to create a smart playlist. Set up as many genre exclusions as you need. Make sure to filter out Audiobooks, Podcasts, etc. Next, setup the rule: Kind is MPEG audio file. This will filter out all the movies and music formats that you can’t upload to Muxtape. Finally, limit the list to 150 items (if you’d like) and tell it to sort by most often played. It should look something like this:

Voila. Now you have a big list of your most-listened-to MP3 files. Find one you like, right-click and reveal it’s location for easy uploading to Muxtape.

For some while-you-work music, be sure to check out my Muxtape.
